National Herstory

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated was founded on November 12, 1922 on the campus of Bulter University in Indianapolis, Indiana by seven illsturious and courageous women:  Mary Lou Allison Garnder Little, Dorthory Hanley Whiteside, Vivian Irene White Marbury, Nattie Mae Gahn Johnson, Hattie Mae Annette Dulin Redford, Bessie Mae Downey Rhodes Martin, and Cubena McClure.  Sigma Gamma Rho was incorporated on December 30,1929.
